iScooter are steadily gaining in popularity in the UK over the past few years. Their electric scooters aren’t just about affordability, they’ve carved out a niche as reliable, robust and quality escooters. Which is why we wanted to write an detailed iScooter review to help you decide if they’re the right electric scooter for you.

Hi I’m Jamie. I’m one of the e-scooter nerds for ScootersForAdults.co.uk. I’ve covered most of the electric scooter reviews so far, and excited to bring you this iScooter review – where I look at all their electric commuter scooters.
⚡️ iScooter Review: Commuter eScooters
In this iScooter review, I’ll break down the 4 main commuter models from iScooter. I thought it best to consoldate this into one big review so you can compare and contrast each of them. I’m going to look at each of the iScooter commuter e-scooters, that’s the i8, i9, i9Max, and i10Plus, to analyse if they are good scooters to buy.
I have tested each of these for about a week at a time, and ended up buying one – revealed later! It was super fun to try them out and be a judge on their performance. As I said I’ve tested loads of scooters for ScootersForAdults now and I can safely say off the bat that iScooters are extremely well built, quality eScooters, and some of the best on the market.

📊 Quick Comparison of the iScooter Electric Scooters
Here’s an initial breakdown of the iScooters, particularly their commuter eScooters. It shows that as you go up in scale in terms of their i models, the Motor improves, which although packs extra weight, does mean a higher top speed and much further range. The i9Max for example goes twice as far on a single charge than the i8.
| Model | Top Speed | Range | Weight | Extras |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| i8 iScooter | 25 km/h | ~12 miles | 12 kg | IP54 water-resistant |
| i9 iScooter | 25 km/h | ~18 miles | 12 kg | Cruise control, solid tyres |
| i9Max iScooter | 35 km/h | ~25 miles | 15 kg | Suspension, wider deck |
| i10Plus iScooter | 40 km/h | ~31 miles | 20 kg | App control, turn signals |
🌤️ iScooter Review: First Impressions
Unboxing any iScooter tends to be straightforward: fold up, tighten the bolts, charge, and you’re on your way. They’ve gone for a no-frills approach, not much in the way of glossy packaging, but very practical, and I like that. I prefer it actually, than all the fancy stuff.
Just give me the adult scooter I say and I want to try it out as soon as I get it with minimal fuss – and preferably already charged.
The thing that stands out immediately with the iScooter range, is how each scooter is designed for a very specific type of rider. I’ve tried to break down here all the benefits and attributes of each one for you to see.

Here are some snaps of my actual i10 Plus. There are more pics on my iScooter i10 Plus unboxing and assembly guide, but these give you a really idea of how slick it is. Clean and easy to use. The deck is wide and long, but not too big. The handlebars are comfortable, and the folding is soooo easy.

🧱 Build & Design
Lets now look at the build and design of each one. For me they all are slightly different, and when I tested these, although subtle difference, are certainly meaningful…
- i8 iScooter & i9 iScooter – These are both extremely portable. The i8 feels more comfortable on smoother roads thanks to its pneumatic tyres, while the i9’s honeycomb tyres mean no punctures, but the ride is firmer.
- i9Max iScooter – Steps things up with suspension and bigger tyres. The deck is wider too, which makes a real difference on longer rides.
- i10Plus iScooter – Comes extra durability and features: turn signals, a full-colour dashboard, and a sturdy folding system that feels built to last. Here are some more pics of the i10 for you…

🔋 Performance & Range
As the table at the top shows, they do have difference performance and range, and it kind of depends what you are using the scooter for and how much you wish to spend. Obviously the i10Plus is the premium model…
- i8 iScooter – Great for short trips (up to 12 miles). Not built for speed demons, but perfectly serviceable for nipping around town.
- i9 iScooter – A sensible commuter’s scooter. The cruise control feature is handy, and the extra range over the i8 makes it practical for daily rides.
- i9Max iScooter – This is where things get interesting: 500 W motor, top speed around 35 km/h, and real improvements in comfort. Handles uneven pavements and potholes much better than the i9.
- i10Plus iScooter – With an 800 W motor and 40 km/h top speed, this is a serious machine. It handles hills far better than the others and has enough range (31 miles) for all-day use. The app and turn signals give it a “premium” feel.

👀 Comparing to other eScooters: iScooter Range vs Pure Air 5 Pro & Segway Ninebot E3
Here’s how the iScooters stack up against two other popular eScooters, Pure Air 5 Pro and Segway Ninebot E3.
| Model | Top Speed | Range | Weight / Portability | Key Extras |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| i8 iScooter | ~25 km/h | ~20 km (12 mi) | ~12 kg | IP54 resistance |
| i9 iScooter | ~25 km/h | ~30 km (18–20 mi) | ~12 kg | Cruise Control |
| i9Max iScooter | ~35 km/h | ~40 km (25 mi) | ~15 kg | Wider deck |
| i10Plus iScooter | ~40 km/h | ~50 km+ (~31 mi) | ~20 kg | Turn signals |
| Pure Air 5 Pro | 25 km/h | ~66.3 km (41.2 mi) | ~16 kg | App connectivity |
| Segway Ninebot E3 | 25 km/h | ~45-55 km | ~17 kg | Large display |
What does this mean?
- The Pure Air Pro is a popular and strong scooter electric choice: range, features, waterproofing, tyres etc., especially for its relatively light weight.
- The Segway E3 competes well with strong ride comfort (suspension), good range, and solid power.
- The iScooter range has a bit of everything: from very budget/light duty (i8) up through more serious commuters (i9Max / i10Plus). In many specs, the mid-to-upper iScooters are approaching or overlapping with what Pure and Segway offer.
📌 Final Verdict: iScooter Review – Are these eScooters worth buying?
So what’s the final verdict on each of the iScooter commuter electric scooters. A week of testing each one really gives you a good insight into how they perform. I rode at least once a day and on different routes and therefore speeds and terrain, so here’s my out of 5 rating…
- i8 iScooter – ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect if you’re on a tight budget and want something super light for short rides.
- i9 iScooter – ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A solid commuter scooter, well balanced for daily use.
- i9Max iScooter – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The sweet spot. Enough speed, range, and comfort without getting too heavy.
- i10Plus iScooter – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A premium commuter scooter for riders who want the lot.

If I had to recommend one though to buy, I’d say the i9Max, as it offers the best mix of practicality, comfort, and performance for the price.
But if you’ve got the budget, the i10Plus really is in another league.
❓FAQs: iScooter Review

The i10Plus, thanks to its 800 W motor and stronger torque.
Yes, all models fold down quickly. The lighter i8 and i9 are genuinely portable, while the i10Plus is better stored at home or the office due to its weight.
