It makes me smile to think about this scooter, as it’s the first one I ever bought, and it remains the best kick scooter for adults around.
The Micro Classic has been for a long-time the fans favourite. Built with Swiss precision, it has large 200mm polyurethane wheels for a smooth ride, even on rough pavements. And I’ve found you’ve really got to work them hard to wear them out, if you know what I mean!

Next up is the Micro Speed, and yes you guessed it it’s built for speed (although don’t worry, it’s not out-of-control fast).
This is the scooter I often choose to take out with my son around the park. Though I did also use it for commuting and general city riding. I found it very lightweight, it’s actually the lightest scooter of the 8 I’ve picked today.

Best for: Stylish riders who value safety and comfort
The Downtown is one of Micro’s newer additions of adult scooters, but I did get the chance to test it out recently as a friend owned one – and I have to say I really liked it.
Although a tad more expensive, I do think it’s worth it for the premium features like a hand brake, which most kick scooters don’t come with – so this is a massive plus!

It also includes a wider foot deck and 200mm wheels for comfort, making it ideal for stylish, longer-distance rides. It’s also meant to be great for hilly terrain and folds really easily.

Best for: Commuters who want comfort at a great price
The 7XL is one of the most popular adult scooters from Decathlon. I’ve owned one for over 2 years now and it’s probably the best looking scooter I own, making it one of the best scooters for adults on the market today.

With dual suspension, large wheels, and a practical folding mechanism, it’s an excellent choice if you’re on a budget (normally around £100) – it’s actually the cheapest of our 8 picks. It even includes a bell, lights, and a comfortable grip system.

Here’s some close up’s for you – the right-hand side lever which allows you to fold it down (it’s a 2-step process, which isn’t as smooth as some scooters with just one, like the Oxelo Commute 900 and Micro Speed). But once folded, it’s neat (the handlebars do compact more downwards), and the deckstand has plenty of room (my size 9 feet).

Brand: Decathlon (Oxelo)
Price Range: £169.99
Best for: City-life commuting
A popular commuter scooter, as the name suggests. And the reason for that is it’s really easy to fold up quickly without having to bend down. It has a patented EasyFold system and EasyHandle handlebars. I’ve tried it versus the conventional folding methods and it’s certainly easier.

I think it’s one of the best adult scooters due to it’s semi-stiff suspension and effortless fold. It’s priced similar to the Micro Classic and Micro Speed, plus I really like it’s anti-vibration handlebars.

I’m not especially tall – I tell people I’m 5″10 but I’m really 5″8. That being said I bought the Razor A6 Scooter because I did find that some scooters can be hard on those who are that bit taller and need the extra space. And it certainly delivers in that department.
It’s got large 10-inch wheels and sturdy aluminum frame, and offers a smooth stable ride.

Like the Micro Classic, the Micro Sporty scooter features large 200mm pneumatic tyres for a smooth, cushioned ride. What makes it sporty though is the nano-technology in the wheels that make it an even more comfortable, smooth and therefore a sporty ride.
I don’t own one of these but a close friend does and I tested it out. It does feel that bit faster and takes the corners better than the Classic, so for a fun-ride I enjoyed it.

And lastly, but not least, is the smooth Micro Suspension scooter. It’s the only one listed with a front and rear suspension, so I had to include it. Plus it takes pride of place in my collection, I love this guy! You can see from the pictures that the large front spring really helps give this scooter a great ride even on rough terrain or uneven pavement.
Ok, it’s a bit pricier than most scooters listed, but this extra suspension tech makes it feel worth paying for. And here’s some snaps of my Micro Suspension scooter. I love this guy, and it’s really lasted well, despite my grainy pics, it’s actually in great knick.
