I don’t want to give too much away too early on, but this is an awesome scooter and probably the best value for money adult scooter around right now.

🧐 My First Impressions
When I first found the Decathlon’s Oxelo Town 7XL online I could tell this scooter meant business. Built for adults navigating the daily grind, it looked sturdy and well-thought-out. The colour choices are awesome, slick and smart but not flashy. I remember liking the dual suspension as a pleasing feature, cos most scooters don’t have this. And can safely say after buying one it really is a stand-out thing to have.
My honest first thought was positive. If I had to summarise in one sentence –
“It isn’t a flashy racer, it’s designed for practicality, as it ticks so many boxes”

Best for: All-round scooting
This guy really does tick so many boxes, with so many additional features at no extra price. And my first impressions were strong. Read on to find out how I found it when I actually used it.
✅ What I Love About This Scooter
1. Suspension Front and Rear
This is one of the standout features. You don’t often get dual suspension at this price point – just over £100. It makes a big difference over rough pavements, small kerbs, and gritty cycle paths. Very helpful for South London streets, I’ll tell you!
2. Ergonomic Design
The deck is great. I own some thin-decked scooters like the Micro Speed scooter, but this is wide enough for larger feet and offers a comfortable stance.
The handlebars are adjustable and sit at a good height for most adults (even 6ft+ riders like me). This goes over 1m in height, so it covers basically every rider height.
3. Great Value
At just under £120 (and sometimes I’ve seen it for £107), the Oxelo Town 7XL scooter offers more than many models at the same or higher price. With quality bearings, decent rubber wheels, and built-in suspension, it punches above its weight, it really does.
⚠️ Things to Consider Though
• Not the Lightest
At 5.6 kg, it’s not overly heavy, but it’s not featherweight either. If you’re frequently carrying it upstairs or between trains, you’ll notice it on the arms, especially if you’re carrying a backpack too. There are some lightweight scooters on the UK market that you might prefer. Again, the Micro Speed scooter, which is one of the lightest on the market is a better option if this bothers you.
But you do get a carry strap with it, which is a bonus for those using public transport or carrying the scooter into the office. Or check out some of my recommendations for scooter carry bags, all of which are compatible with this scooter.
• Folding is Classic 2-step
The folding system is a classic 2-step, which you do get used to to be honest, but it’s not like Micro Speed or Oxelo Commute 900 which is just one motion.
You need to put your knee on the deck, push the right-hand side black lever away from you, so the handlebar moves away from you, then you pull it towards you to fold it. So it’s an away then pull towards movement – it’s a two hand motion. At first this is a bit annoying, but hey you get used to it and it’s honestly fine after a while.
And here it is folded, the handlebars do go down so it’s more compact. And here it is up again, with my foot on the deck – giving you an idea of the deck size too – I’m size 9 feet, so it fits me with room to spare.
• Larger Size
It folds, yes, but it’s still fairly bulky when collapsed due to its larger wheels and wide deck – you can see that above, it’s not small but I wouldn’t say it’s large either. I have found it can fit under a small desk or café table.

If you’re torn between the Oxelo Town 7XL and Oxelo Commute 900, you’re not alone, both scooters are adult-friendly, foldable, and come from Decathlon’s trusted Oxelo range. But there are some key differences worth considering based on how you ride.

Both the Oxelo Town and Oxelo 900 have a kick-stand, 200mm wheels and hand-breaks. Here they are on the Oxelo Town. The kick-stand just flips down from the deck, super easy to use and doesn’t get in the way. The wheels are super solid – here are mine slightly worn away, but still working brilliantly. And the hand-break is an awesome feature, and one that Micro scooters should really implement.
For the kick-stand, a few of my friends have said there’s have waned over the years and eventually stopped working but you can buy replacement parts, including new wheels etc, from the Decathlon scooter spare parts shop.
🏙️ Who Is The Oxelo Town 7XL Scooter Best For
It’s an especially good option for beginners or those transitioning from basic scooters to something more refined without going full premium.
It isn’t a full on premium scooter, hence the lower price, but it’s something to start with I think, and if you’re just starting to go out and about more regularly with a scooter. So I’d recommend it for…

I’d give it a 5 star review. I love my Oxelo T7XL – albeit not the most memorable name, but it sure looks great, rides well, has a handbrake and doesn’t cost much. Ok, the folding isn’t as simple as say the Micro Speed, but honestly you get used to it. And with the handbreak included, that more than makes up for it.
Overall, go for it, it’s an awesome scooter!
