Best Scooters for Tall Adults (6ft+) – My Top 5 Picks (Kick & Electric)! ☝️

It’s hard to know what scooter to buy if you’re 6ft+ because you have to consider whether the handlebars reach high enough, whether the deck length is sufficient and overall that you won’t be leaning down too much hurting your back. Scooters for tall adults do exist though, in fact many of the top scooters out there are suitable.

So I thought it would helpful to put together a guide on the best 6 scooters for tall adults. I’ve picked out 3 really suitable kick scooters and 3 electric scooters. These are fully comfortable for taller adults – trust me I’m 6ft 1!

Hi, I’m Jamie, a self-proclaimed scooter guru for Scooters For Adults. I own 8 scooters, yes that many!

I’m also 6ft 1, and even though some would wish for it, I’ve always found being tall a bit of a pain. And when I first started buying scooters it was tough to know which are suitable scooters for taller adults like me. This drove me to put together my top 5 picks…

🛴 Best Kick Scooters for Tall Adults…

Here we go on the first 3, my fav kick scooters for taller adults. I’m a big fan of kick scooters, it’s where I started to get obsessed with scooters, buying a Micro Speed scooter firstly. But these below are far more tailored to adults over 6ft…

1. Micro Classic

  • Handlebar Height: Adjustable up to 103cm
  • Wheels: Large 200mm for smooth rolling
  • Deck: Low to the ground for stable footing
  • Weight Limit: 100kg

Top of the kick scooter tree is the Micro Classic scooter. It’s the flagship scooter from Micro and build with a super solid frame, large wheels at 200mm and holds a decent weight limit of 100kg.

And for taller riders? It has adjustable handlebars to 103cm which trust me is just right. To straining or leaning, it’s in the right spot for your hands.

2. Oxelo Commute 900

  • Handlebar Height: Adjustable up to 106cm
  • Wheels: 200mm rubber wheels with suspension
  • Deck: Wide and grippy with low clearance
  • Max Weight: 100kg

I’ve owned an Oxelo Adult Commute 900 for 3 years and it’s definitely one of my favourites to ride. It’s a solid adult scooter, that 100% accommodates taller riders. I really like that has a handbrake and the one kick folding method makes it a super foldable scooter too.

Here you can see my slightly scuffed Oxelo Commute 900 (handlebars I replaced so they now look in good condition). I love the fact it has a handbreak, and the deck grip is super comfortable to stand on.

3. Micro Suspension

  • Handlebar Height: Adjustable to 103cm
  • Suspension: Front and rear built-in
  • Deck: Comfortable length and flex
  • Wheels: 200mm shock-absorbing PU

Next up is the Micro Suspension, and as the name suggests it has shock absorbing front and rear suspension built-in.

For the taller rider this is a great thing to have. It makes riding it really comfortable and smooth and for some reason being taller means the extra need for a bit of bounce.

Here are some snaps of my actual Micro Suspension, and I love this guy. He’s served me so well and I’ve not had to replace a single part. An awesome scooter for a taller adult I must say.

⚡Best Electric Scooters for Tall Adults…

Now for my fav 3 electric scooters for taller adults. Speed and performance are even more key with electric scooters, so having something that supports a taller individual is vital. You need to feel secure, safe and that you don’t have to lean down unnaturally when riding.

4. Pure Air 4 Pro

Pure Air4 Pro Electric Scooter
  • Handlebar Height: Non-adjustable but tall-friendly design
  • Max Rider Height: Up to 6’4″ comfortably
  • Motor: 500W (710W peak)
  • Range: Up to 40km
  • Tyres: 10” tubeless with good shock absorption

I can’t fault the Pure Air 4 Pro to be honest. I’ve been riding mine for a while now. It’s fast, comfortable, and smooth. Even better, it suits someone of my height really well – up to 6ft 4 comfortable!

It’s waterproof and stable, and the tyres feel really sturdy all the time I ride it. Although in the U.K. riding it out on public roads isn’t allowed, I’ve used it loads scooting across my friend’s farm.

Here are some close ups of it taken from our Pure Air 4 Pro review. You can see the tyres are super solid and the deck is big yet not unstable. It really is a perfect scooter for any height adult, but particular for taller individuals.

4. i9Max iScooter (Electric)

i9 Max iScooter review
  • Max Rider Height: Up to 6’4″ comfortably
  • Approx. £498
  • Up to 25-30 miles (~40-50 km) range
  • IP-rating ~IP54
  • Charging time ~6-7 hours
  • Weight: ~15-16 kg

The i9Max from iScooter is defintely one to consider. It’s actually a fair bit cheaper than some it’s rivals and has all the same bells and whistles. Plus it’s perfect for taller riders like me.

You can find out more info if you need in our iScooter review, plus their other models, the i8, i9, and i10Plus.

5. Razor E300 E-Scooter

SEGWAY-NINEBOT F2 Plus E Electric Folding Scooter
  • Top Speed: Up to 15mph
  • Deck: Wide and suitable for larger feet
  • Handlebar Height: Fixed but high
  • Max Rider Weight: 100kg

And lastly we have the Razor E300. It goes up to 15 mph, which is pretty speedu and the wide deck makes it really suitable for those with wider feet, which tend to be the taller individual.

Although the handlebar is fixed, it’s high, and a great height for anyone 5ft 8 and higher, so for a 6ft+ individual it’s more than comfortable.

🧾 Comparison: Best Scooters for Tall Adults (6ft+)

I always find comparison tables the most useful, so I had to include it here. We’ve discussed 6 scooters here, 3 electric and 3 kick, so here you can see those differences. They have varying handlebar heights, which is probably the most important thing when it comes to feeling comfortable as a tall rider. I’ve listed wheel size and general features to give you an idea…

👀 Key Features: What to Look for in Scooters for Tall Adult Riders

The last thing you want is to feel uncomfortable on your adult scooter. If you’re tall it puts greater strain on your lower back if you’re in an awkward position. I’ve felt it a few times on a shorter scooter, and over a while it can not feel too great.

So my recommendations on what to look for with your next scooter are…

  • Handlebar Height: Look for models with 100cm+ adjustable handlebars
  • Deck Size: Longer and wider decks for better stance and balance
  • Wheel Size: Larger wheels (180–200mm+) improve stability
  • Suspension: Essential if you’re riding over bumpy roads
  • Build Quality: Strong frames to handle taller rider weights

🧠 Summary: What is the best scooter for tall adults?

Taller riders don’t have to settle for uncomfortable, crouched scooter rides. Whether you prefer the simplicity of a kick scooter or the power of an electric model, there are excellent options that cater to your height and comfort. I’ve tested / owned all of the scooters above and I can assure you they are built to last, and designed with rider ergonomics in mind.

🏆 Top Kick Pick: Micro Classic Scooter

micro classic scooter

But what is actually the best scooter for tall adults?

It’s the Micro Classic. Even if we’re talking electric vs kick, I’d still pick the easy to use Micro Classic. It accommodates the taller rider really well, it’s comfortable with it’s riding stance and the handlebars are so easy to adjust.

Go for this one if you are choosing! It also looks cool in Neochrome by the way…

🏆 Top Electric Pick: i9Max iScooter

i9 Max iScooter review

The i9Max iScooter is the best choice in terms of electric pick for taller adults in my opinion. It comes with the same features than more expensive options plus also comes in more advanced models, or basic ones, if you prefer different features or build.

❓ FAQs: Scooters for Tall Adults

What scooter handlebar height is good for someone over 6ft?

Look for handlebars that adjust to 100cm or more. Some electric scooters have fixed bars but are designed for tall riders ergonomically.

Can tall riders use scooters with smaller wheels?

It’s possible, but 200mm wheels or larger offer more stability and comfort, especially on uneven surfaces.

Are electric scooters better for tall adults?

They can be. Electric scooters typically have larger decks and more upright geometry, which suits taller riders well.

Will a low deck help with comfort?

Yes, a lower deck height reduces leg fatigue by making pushing easier on kick scooters.

Can scooters support heavier tall riders?

Most of these models support up to 100kg. Always check the manufacturer’s specs for max load. Or check out our guide to Scooters for Heavy Adults to find out our recommended scooters.

Can I take these on buses and trains?

Absolutely. All scooters listed here fold easily and are compact enough for public transport use.
